Jack Vogel ’09 Wins Carl Menger Essay Award

Jack Vogel will be honored in a November ceremony in Washington D.C. for his essay entitled, “The Role of Private Equity in Enhancing the Market for Corporate Control and Capitalism Itself.” 
Jack Vogel ’09 was selected this year as a winner of the prestigious Carl Menger Essay Contest for undergraduates, which is sponsored by the Foundation for Economic Education and the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics.
 
The award includes a $500 honorarium and an expenses-paid trip to the November ceremony at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, D.C., where Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith and another economist, Israel Kirzner, will also receive awards.
 
Jack’s essay was entitled, “The Role of Private Equity in Enhancing the Market for Corporate Control and Capitalism Itself.” He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut this past June.
