Grade Two Teacher

Description:
Fay School seeks a dynamic, flexible, and creative individual who loves teaching and understands how to engage elementary children in learning. Building on Fay’s existing program, this teacher will be a homeroom teacher and collaborate with colleagues to teach grade two students in the Primary School. This is a full-time, school-year position and is eligible for benefits. Campus housing may be available. 
 
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of elementary school teaching experience. A bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a related field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons
  • Assessing students’ learning and progress and writing narrative reports for families
  • Effectively using technology to enhance instruction
  • Conducting parent conferences and communicating effectively with parents and families
  • As a homeroom teacher, serve as a primary point of contact with parents and families
  • Attending team and department meetings and school events as required
  • Engaging in two trimesters of afternoon duties as assigned
