Fay School is delighted to welcome Dr. Rob Evans on Tuesday, May 2 for a special presentation entitled "Successful Strategies for Working with Today's Parents."
Schools of all kinds report growing challenges with parents: more anxiety that students suffer no disappointment; higher expectations for student success; greater willingness to demand, second-guess, and criticize. Dr. Evans will outline key dilemmas facing schools and outline ways to both renew the school’s partnership with parents and manage challenging situations.
Dr. Evans is a clinical and organizational psychologist and the Executive Director of The Human Relations Service in Wellesley, A former high school and pre-school teacher, and a former child and family therapist, he has worked with schools and families for forty years. He has consulted to more than 1,700 schools and districts around the country, working with teachers, administrators, boards, and parents. His presentations are known for their lively wit and plain talk, He is the author of many articles and three books, including Family Matters: How Schools Can Cope with The Crisis in Childrearing.
