Daily Arrival and Dismissal

General Rules and Procedures

  • Please observe the 5 mph speed limit and one-way traffic flow when entering campus and be mindful of all crosswalks.
  • Traffic should enter Harlow Circle via the East Entrance on Middle Road. Enter Upjohn Circle via the West Entrance and exit via the Main Entrance.
  • In consideration of our neighbors, please observe the “no parking” signs on Middle Road at all times.
  • On arrival, children should exit from the right-side of the vehicle on to the curb. Once children have cleared your car, please pull out into the passing lane with care. All children must wear a seat belt.
  • Please do not park and leave your car on the curb in Harlow Circle. This area is meant for drop-off and pick-up only.
  • In support of our environmental sustainability efforts, please turn off your vehicle’s engine while waiting in the drop-off and pick-up lines.
  • Car seats should be placed on the rear, right side passenger seat so teachers can assist your child from and into the seat from the curb. Please note that teachers are not allowed to buckle or otherwise secure your child into his or her car seat.
  • Parents and guardians are asked to remain in their car at all times, unless helping a child to “buckle up.” Please do not use cell phones while your car is in motion.
  • Students who are not picked up promptly at dismissal time will automatically be placed in Extended Fay and regular fees will apply.

Late Start on Thursdays

On Thursdays, drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m., giving students a midweek opportunity to sleep in, recharge, and finish the week strong.

Morning Care & Early Drop-Off Options
We recognize that schedule changes require flexibility for busy families, and our Extended Fay team is ready to support your morning routine:
  • Fay’s AM Care: Operates as usual every Thursday morning for families who are registered for this program.
  • Early Drop-Off (7:45 a.m.): Available for families who do not typically use AM Care but need regular drop-off timing on Thursdays. Pre-registration for Early Drop-Off on Thursdays is required.

All School Early Dismissals

Early dismissal days occur on the last day of each term and on the Thursday afternoon before mid-winter break; all students are dismissed at 2:20 p.m. No sports or Extended Day programs will run.

One Monday each month, all students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. so that faculty may attend planning and professional development meetings. There are no sports or athletics on these Mondays, but Fay After School and Clubs will run.

Early dismissal dates are listed on the school calendar.
