Through song, Promised Land teaches students about the history of worldwide immigration to America that millions of immigrants sought for over four centuries. Students listen, learn, and participate in the odysseys of immigrants who found themselves on a new continent faced with overwhelming challenges and opportunities. Hear the multicultural sounds of instruments including the mandocello, bones, dumbek, guitar, banjo, jaw harp, tambourine, string bass, oud, penny whistle, fiddle, Native American flute, and spoons.

Young Audiences of Massachusetts will be performing their Characters Educational Theatre Phebe Emerson program. This event is sponsored by the Fay Parents' Association.

Join Phebe Emerson on April 19, 1775 – the fateful day when the Redcoats marched into Concord from Lexington. Mrs. Emerson, the wife of Concord’s minister in 1775, witnessed the famous battle that took place on that day. Phebe brings a fresh perspective to this historical event, discusses how the townspeople felt about the American Revolution, and reviews the events leading up to it. The grandmother of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Phebe gives students a sense of daily life in Colonial America and provides an informational foundation for understanding the “flowering of New England” during the 19th century.

The second grade welcomes the Museum of Science Traveling Program, "Motion: Forces & Work."
Students will learn how forces create motion, understand what work is, and discover what simple machines have in common and how they help us perform a large amount of work with minimal force. Students use mechanical advantage to turn a wheel and axle against a stronger opponent, haul their classmates across the room using pulleys, and find out if they can lift a teacher using a giant lever!
