French Forecasts
From Paris to Port-au-Prince, our fifth grade French students have been stepping into the role of meteorologists this month—building their language skills as they deliver le reportage météo for two cities in French-speaking countries around the world.
Fifth graders in world languages teacher Rachana Sudhaman’s French class had one week to research, write, and deliver a weather report entirely in French. Students explored countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Laos, and Switzerland, strengthening their language skills and cultural awareness. Each presentation featured an introduction, a map of the country, the capital and major cities, and detailed forecasts for today and tomorrow in both the capital and an additional city, bringing geography, culture, and French vocabulary and phrases together in a fun and engaging project.
