Football at Fay School

During the fall sports season, Fay’s football team competes against our peer schools and a handful of secondary school teams. With access to a full-sized football field on the main campus for training and competition, Fay’s football team takes a program approach that focuses on the development of skills for the younger players while challenging the older players in a more competitive environment.

Each year, the program serves an average of 30-40 athletes in grades five through nine and has four full-time coaches who are also members of Fay’s teaching faculty. The 5th and 6th graders play flag football and play approximately 6 games against peer middle schools while 7th-9th graders play an 8-game season on our full-tackle Varsity team. Every other year the Varsity team plays in a “Friday Night Lights” game on their home field, as well as a bowl game against our rival, Fenn School. Many of our students have gone on to play at highly competitive New
England preparatory schools.

Limited parking is available at DCR Field on the side of Middle Road. Alternate parking is available at Fay’s East Entrance (23 Middle Road).

Coaching Staff

Varsity Football - Head Coach

Chris Kimball
Chris participated in football, basketball, and track and field throughout high school, and he excelled at the triple jump. Chris attended St. Lawrence University, where he was a member of the school’s football team. In addition to coaching, Chris serves as the Visual Arts Coordinator and teaches art classes for grades 7-9.

Flag Football - Head Coach

Bruce Chauncey
Bruce has many roles at Fay in addition to serving as football coach. He is a lower school history teacher, basketball coach, and a dorm parent in the Village Dorms.
