Shrek The Musical

The cast and crew of Shrek The Musical delighted audiences with two performances this past week! They gave an open dress rehearsal performance in Harris Theater on Thursday afternoon for Primary and Lower School students. On Friday evening, they performed the play for the entire Fay community, families, and friends. The spring musical is always the culmination of many weeks of hard work, and this year was no exception. The cast of twenty-six Upper School students, many of whom played several roles, have been busy practicing their lines, blocking, song, and dance numbers while a stage crew of ten students worked on scenery, lighting, and sound.
Like the eponymous film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a cranky ogre who wants to be left alone in his swamp. However, to keep his home, Shrek is forced to embark on an adventure to rescue Princess Fiona, accompanied by his trusty sidekick Donkey and a bevy of fairytale friends. Shrek The Musical is a story about finding love, friendship, and acceptance in unexpected places.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Shrek The Musical, with special acknowledgment to the show’s Production Staff:
