Richard Roberts has been a teacher in middle and secondary schools throughout New York and New England over the past 20 years. Richard is passionate about the independent school model and its emphasis on educating the whole child. He has taught both English and history throughout his career and takes a co-disciplinary approach to literature in class. Richard's academic interests include literary works from the Romantic Era and the history of both the Classical Age and the early American republic. He is indebted to the professors at the College of the Holy Cross for giving him the foundation for life-long learning. He particularly enjoyed his classics courses during which he studied history and read the epic poetry of Hesiod, Homer, and Virgil. Richard lives on campus with his wife, Elizabeth, his oldest son, Burke, and his young twins, Padraig and Eilish. In addition to teaching at Fay, he is a soccer coach, a moderator for various clubs, and the boys' varsity tennis coach. In his free time, he enjoys playing competitive tennis, reading, going to see live performances, and spending time with his family.
