Digital Literacy Teacher

Interim Position Beginning August 2025

Description:
Fay School seeks a dynamic, flexible, and thoughtful educator to teach digital literacy courses to students in grades three through six. This is an interim position for the 2025-26 school year. The digital literacy teacher focuses on age-appropriate instruction in digital citizenship, algorithmic thinking, and foundational AI literacy, with an emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than software training. The School values innovative educators who possess excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to contribute to departmental discussions regarding curriculum design and innovation. This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. Campus housing may be available.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, computer science, or a related field is required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and experience with coding, robotics, or hands-on, project-based interdisciplinary curriculum. Applicants with non-traditional educational paths, industry experience, or unconventional teaching backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing student performance and providing feedback that supports growth and development
  • Communicating effectively with parents and families
  • Collaborating with colleagues in grade-level team meetings and department meetings
  • Engage in two trimesters of afternoon duties 
  • Designing and delivering lessons aligned with the department’s evolving focus on critical digital literacy, AI awareness, and ethical technology use
  • Teaching digital skills and concepts to elementary and/or middle school students
  • Collaborating with grade-level and departmental colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
