Clubs (K - Grade 4)
Fay After School Clubs, Fall Term 2024
Please note that Clubs must have a minimum enrollment to run. If a program has low enrollment, students will be able to transfer to another Club or receive a refund. Also, Clubs meet once per week, from 3:00 - 4:30 pm.
In this Pokemania club, students will build and explore the world of Pokemon as they create their own training gyms, battles, and even their very own generation of pocket monsters with LEGO bricks. Students will also learn about Biology and Ecology as they learn about the habitats of the Pokemon. They will do more than catch them - they will build and closely examine them and have a blast doing so! Students are not allowed to bring Pokemon cards from home.
Our Karate Club helps develop teamwork, balance, control, discipline, focus, memory, coordination, and fitness by using fun karate drills and exercises. These skills will ultimately benefit students in school and at home. During the club, students can work to earn their white belt or a stripe to add to their white belt if they already have one.
This fall, we’re excited to turn the Fay School campus into a golf course! Young golfers will learn the basics of golf and will develop their skills with expert instructors. Topics covered during the club will include golf swings, putting, chipping, pitching, proper etiquette, and rules. Students will love this fun and engaging program that will provide skills to last a lifetime. All equipment needed for this camp will be provided by Fay.
During this club, students will learn the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some different hand stitches. They will use new skills to sew some creative projects, including bags, stuffed animals, and accessories. Each project will take about 2-3 classes to complete, and students will be able to take their creations home when they are finished. No experience is necessary - beginners are welcome.
Get up, get going, and get active during our Multi-Sport club. F.A.S.T. Athletics will offer a variety of sports each week, such as Soccer, Mat Ball, Basketball, Dodgeball, and Kickball. Programs will include proper stretching and warm-up games as well as learning basic skills of each sport, each class will end with a high energy game with the sport played that day. Students will split into groups by age and ability.
During this club, students are taught using a curriculum integrating traditional method books and computer software to allow students to learn at their own pace. Daily practice at home is expected and is essential to student progress. There will be a recital scheduled at the end of the spring to showcase the skills developed.

Does your child love building and creating in Minecraft? Our Minecraft Design club offers young builders the opportunity to explore and develop their architectural skills using the popular game, Minecraft. Students will embark on exciting projects like designing innovative buildings, replicating famous landmarks, and even creating their own Mars rover. Each session encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration as students plan, prototype, and construct their ideas in a virtual world.
Bring your enthusiasm and imagination to this club as you create crafts and take part in science experiments. Each week, students will participate in projects that are designed to expand creativity while learning new skills. Projects include our famous Slime Factory, learning to draw animals, creating mosaics, painting on canvas with mixed media, Simple Science, and more! There is no experience necessary for this club and students will take all their creations home.
During each week of this club, students will explore different cultural and language based topics. The curriculum encourages student learning with hands-on experiences and creative activities consisting of arts, crafts, foods, language, cultural dress, songs, and more. We will also incorporate yoga, stretching, music, and dance. This club is open to everyone and is taught by Shehla Eledroos, a current ELC teacher who has also taught Hindi in India.

During this club, students will learn how to design simple and complex machines and use things like gears, pulleys, wheels and axles, levers, cranks, and ratchets to build their own models. They will learn how different configurations of these parts can create unique movement guided by laws of physics and will be encouraged to experiment with their builds to create new design possibilities.
Join us outside on the field (or indoors in inclement weather) for a fun-filled soccer experience. Each week, an experienced youth soccer coach will deliver drills and games to students for them to build on a variety of skills. Each week will also focus on a different skill, such as passing, shooting, dribbling, goalkeeping, defending, and more.
Does your child enjoy exploring new flavors and creating tasty treats? During this club, students will be introduced to the art of making smoothies, dips, and more. Students will learn to blend a variety of nutritious and delicious recipes from around the globe, including Mediterranean hummus and Mexican guacamole. Our sessions are packed with fun, offering students the chance to learn blending techniques, understand safety protocols, and enhance their culinary vocabulary. Join us for a blending adventure where your child will discover how simple ingredients can be transformed into exciting and healthy creations!
Join a professional coach to develop your love of football into skills and knowledge about the game. During this club, players will learn offensive and defense plays, and they will work on ready positions, throwing, catching, handling the ball, learning the field, and scoring touchdowns. Along the way, we will play full football games and will build skills and confidence in a safe and fun environment.
In this program, your engineer will use advanced LEGO® bricks and Spike Prime® technology to explore the basics of robotics while building some pretty spectacular vehicles and machines! While working with a partner, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how to use word-block coding to program their creations. We will support them in the development of their programming and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges.
During this club, expert instructors will provide informative and challenging chess lessons to students. Chess teaches children many important life concepts, such as the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students will be divided into groups according to their age and chess experience. The program will include strategy, lessons, games, and even a mini-chess tournament.

During this club, students will learn the art of food modeling with a variety of edible, delicious ingredients! They will create confectionary masterpieces using pre-made ingredients like fondant, cake, cupcakes, rice krispies, and various frostings and icings based on fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving themes.
