Spring 2020 Clubs begin the week of March 31. Please carefully check the dates that each club meets. Registration will take place from February 21.

  • Amusement Park Engineering : 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4)

    We bet your child loves going to amusement parks to experience the variety of fast, dropping, and spinning rides, but have they ever thought about the science that goes into building those rides and the people who are responsible for designing them? In Snapology’s Amusement Park Engineering class, students will become engineers of their own amusement park rides and will learn the core physics and engineering concepts used to make a ride thrilling!

  • Cupcake Competitions: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-4)

    Roll up your sleeves and get ready for some friendly competition! Kids will have a set amount of time to decorate cupcakes based on pop culture movies/cartoons, food, books, music and more! All ingredients used are nut-free however some pre-made ingredients may be processed in a facility that also processes nuts.

  • Kids Cardio Circuit Training: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-2)

    Kids Cardio Circuit Training is a fun and interactive class which includes circle time, warm-up, cardio circuit training, an obstacle course, and strength building games. We will have several stations set up with different activities for students to rotate through in a short period of time. Each class ends with a discussion of individualized healthy goals and meditation with our very own Mr. Bu-dog. Your child will learn confidence, proper form, and most importantly, have fun!

  • LEGO Club: City Planning: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-2)

    Children work in a group to plan and build a city with essential infrastructure. They learn what is required to run a town or city,
    what services the city provides, and how certain services are strategically placed within the city through zoning. We will discuss Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Governmental zones. We will also discuss the differences between planned and unplanned cities. They then work on building their plan in order to discover what works and what doesn’t.

  • Piano III Spring: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 1-4)

    Students are taught using a curriculum integrating traditional method books and computer software to allow students to learn at their own pace. Daily practice at home is expected and is essential to student progress. Students in this club are encouraged to register each trimester for the full 2019-2020 academic year as a recital is scheduled at the end of the academic year.

    The Music Club Recital will take place on Thursday, May 28.

  • Service Club: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4)

    Are you interested in helping your community? Sign up for an incredible opportunity to engage in service learning with the service club. The club will focus on instilling our core beliefs of empathy, purpose, and connection while allowing participants to design their own service projects. Each member of the group will become a leader within the Lower School, helping to design additional projects for classmates.

  • DIY - Make & Take: 3:00-4:30 p.m. (Grades K-4)

    Take a break from technology and exercise your brain by coming up with your own creative and useful DIY projects! Kids will create their own personalized wood plaques, t-shirts, picture frames and more!

    HERO’s multi-sport program will offer 10 sports including soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, gymnastics, yoga, HERO obstacle courses, and more! HERO Sports is a specialized sports enrichment program dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of sports and the values of teamwork.

  • 3D Technology Art: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4)

    Kids will learn the art of 3D drawing and sculpting by using our 3D technology to make one of a kind creations! Lift your imaginations off the page and join us for this technology based art class with endless possibilities! All creations will be taken home after class. No experience necessary, all materials/equipment included.

  • Animal Robotics: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-2)

    In Snapology's Creature Creator Robotics class, your animal lover will create their own animal inspired robotic models using LEGO WeDo 2.0. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas, and much more. Your child is sure to have a wild time as they build, learn, and play.

  • Sewing Club: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 1-4)

    Sewing is fun! In this class you will learn the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some different hand stitches. You will use your new skills to sew some creative projects including bags, stuffed animals, and accessories. Each project will take about 2 -3 classes to complete. No experience is necessary - beginners are welcome, and projects will be different from the fall! Come see what you can sew!

  • Soccer: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-4)

    Join us on the field (or indoors in inclement weather) for a fun filled soccer experience. Each week a professional youth soccer coach will deliver drills and games to build up a variety of skills. Players will be split by age and ability to allow for development at the right level.
    There will be a theme each week in building skills around, passing, shooting, dribbling, goalkeeping, defending and more. Plenty of game time and goals will make sure the kids have great fun.

  • Chess: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 2-4)

    FAS welcomes back U.S. Chess Life Master Lou Mercuri as lead instructor for Chess. Students learn the basic moves of chess and beyond - including checkmating patterns, opening strategies, tactics, famous games from the great players, and visualizing at least a couple of moves ahead. Players have the opportunity to play each other in a supervised setting with helpful tips and advice on how to improve, and they also work in small teams to take on problem-solving challenges together.

  • Violin Club: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-4)

    Through games and stories, students will learn to develop their listening and musical skills. We will focus on caring for the instrument, producing a lovely tone, playing notes in first position, and reading music. This club continues each season and will present a spring recital. Violin rentals are available through Music & Arts, French's Music, and Johnson Strings. Please bring instruments to club each week. Music books are included, but music stands and flashcards are billed separately.

  • Karate: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades K-2)

    The karate program will develop focus, teamwork, balance, control, discipline, memory, coordination, and fitness by using fun karate drills and exercises. These skills help students in karate class, in school, and at home. Karate is about making the world a better place for the student and for those with whom they interact. Students can earn their white belt or a stripe to add to their belt if they have already earned a white belt.

  • LEGO Stop Motion Movies: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4)

    Children work in groups to create a short stop motion animation video. Groups begin by story-boarding, writing their story and set design.
    During filming each student will get to sit as the director, computer operator, and movement coordinators. Should time allow students will also voice over their movies and create sound effects, create an intro and final credits.
    On average we expect each group to create 30-60 seconds of film using a 10-15 frame per second playback rate.
