Monday

  • 3D Technology Art: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Kids will learn the art of 3D drawing and sculpting by using our 3D technology to make one-of-a-kind creations! Lift your imaginations off the page and join us for this technology-based art class with endless possibilities! All creations will be taken home after class. No experience necessary, all materials/equipment included.

  • LEGO Creative Building: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K- Gr. 2)

    Students are given basic challenges and are encouraged to build creatively with LEGO in a hands-on environment. The instructor uses a variety of methods to guide students through the problem solving process, ensuring students learn and have fun at the same time. Students learn about basic math, science, and engineering principles including friction, simple levers, motion, and momentum.

  • Lil' Ninjas: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K - Gr. 2)

    An imaginative fitness class brought to Fay by H2K Happy, Healthy Kids that combines elements of kickboxing, tumbling, and many obstacle courses. Each class will engage your child on a journey through their first Ninja Academy! This class provides a fun and exciting atmosphere while building basic strength, agility, and self-control skills. We will end each class with healthy goals and meditation with our very own H2K Bu-Dog.

  • Service Club: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 3-4)

    Are you interested in helping your community? Sign up for an incredible opportunity to engage in service learning with the service club. The club will focus on instilling our core beliefs of empathy, purpose, and connection while allowing participants to design their own service projects. Each member of the group will become a leader within the Lower School, helping to design additional projects for classmates.

    Students are taught using a curriculum integrating traditional method books and computer software to allow students to learn at their own pace. Daily practice at home is expected and is essential to student progress. Students in this club are encouraged to register each trimester for the full 2019-2020 academic year as a recital is scheduled at the end of the academic year.

  • Cardio Kickboxing: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 3-4)

    This class will teach your child self-defense, self-confidence, and discipline in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. We will learn different punches and kicks, boxing drills, bag work, non-contact sparring, and work on core strength. We will end each class with healthy goals and meditation with our very own H2K Bu-Dog.

  • Sewing 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 1-4)

    Sewing is fun! In this class you will learn the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some different hand stitches. You will use your new skills to sew some creative projects including bags, stuffed animals, and accessories. Each project will take about 2-3 classes to complete. No experience is necessary - beginners are welcome. Come see what you can sew!

Thursday

  • Beginning Violin: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K - Gr. 4)

    Through games and stories, students will learn to develop their listening and musical skills. We will focus on caring for the instrument, producing a lovely tone, playing notes in first position, and reading music. This club continues each season and will present a spring recital. Violin rentals are available through Music & Arts, French's Music, and Johnson Strings. Please bring instruments to club each week. Music books are included, but music stands and flashcards are billed separately.

    INFINITUM Squash's Junior Squash Academy offers squash instruction to all levels of squash players from absolute beginner to elite. The after-school program will focus on introducing Fay students to the sport of squash with an emphasis on proper technique practiced through fun group games, competition, and continuous instruction from INFINITUM's world-class coaching team - with an end goal of building a foundation for continued improvement and enjoyment of the sport! Students should come with non-marking court shoes (eg. indoor soccer, tennis, volleyball, squash, etc...). INFINITUM will provide racquets and eyewear for those who don't have their own.

    For those adventurous enough to take their slime creations to the next level, join us in making all new borax-free slime recipes including Gold & Silver Foil Slime, Daiso Clay Slime, Fish Bowl Bread Slime, Clear Marker Slime, and more!

  • Karate: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. (K-Gr. 2)

    The karate program will develop focus, teamwork, balance, control, discipline, memory, coordination, and fitness by using fun karate drills and exercises. These skills help students in karate class, in school, and at home. Karate is about making the world a better place for the student and for those with whom they interact. Students can earn their white belt or a stripe to add to their belt if they have already earned a white belt.

  • LEGO Mechanical Engineering: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 3-4)

    Students will use LEGO to build simple and motorized machines learning about levers, pulleys, measurements, gear ratios, and much more. Children work in small groups to first build mechanisms based on lesson instructions and when familiar with the challenge they will be asked to improve upon the design. Every class is different and challenges encourage critical thinking.

  • Let's Cook! Fall: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Get ready to roll up your sleeves and have some fun making an assortment of fall-inspired foods! We will prepare a breakfast dish, a snack, a salad/soup/app, and a main meal - all from scratch! Learn about healthy eating, kitchen tools and equipment, and kitchen safety! All ingredients used are nut-free.
