  • Karate: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K-Gr. 1)

    Under the guidance of Fourth-Degree Black Belt and certified instructor Sensei Lynn Reynolds, children gain self-esteem as they learn the kenpo curriculum. Relays, games and karate fundamentals lead to improved strength, flexibility and manipulative skills. As the children progress, these activities adapt to further develop physical strength, coordination, balance, mental focus, personal confidence and a spirit of group cooperation. Students advance as quickly as they are able to learn and perform the skills for their rank. New and experienced students are welcome. No uniform is required - students should come in comfortable athletic clothing.

  • LEGO Creative Building: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K - Gr. 1)

    In this STEM-based club, students will learn math, science, and engineering principles including friction, simple levers, motion, and momentum—all through the fun of LEGO. While being challenged with fun “problem projects,” students are encouraged to think outside of the box, experiment, test, and improve on their designs. Each week has a different theme, featuring projects like catapults, bridges, and spinners. Perfect for the fun-loving problem solver!

  • STEM is Fun for Kids: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Offered by STEM Beginnings, STEM is Fun for Kids is a fun-filled experience that encourages learning curiosity in a hands-on way. Kids are given challenges that allow them to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts using a variety of tools and techniques: from simple experiments, building challenges, team-based activities, analytical projects, and fun games!

  • Around the World: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K)

    Pack your bags and join us as we travel around the world! Each week, students will travel to a new country and learn about its culture. Based around the country they’re visiting that week, students will read stories, play games, create art projects, sample different foods, and listen to the local music. So buckle up and get ready for an adventure!

  • Super Sports: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Get up, get going, get active with the F.A.S.T. Athletics Super Sports Program. A variety of sports is offered each week such as: Soccer, Mat Ball, Football, Dodgeball, and Kickball. Program will include proper stretching and warm-up games as well as learning basic skills of each sport, each class will end with a high energy game of  the sport played that day.

  • Kids YOGA: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (K-Gr. 1)

    This class creatively invites young children to flow and find happiness in the moment. When children take time to breathe and connect to their bodies it can have a positive impact on behavior, mood, and focus.
    Through the use of stories, movement, group games, art activities, and deep relaxation children will gain confidence, self-awareness, a sense of community, inner and outer strength all in an enjoyable, safe, be yourself, no judgement environment.

    Students are taught using a curriculum integrating traditional method books and computer software to allow students to learn at their own pace. Daily practice at home is expected and is essential to student progress. Students in this club are encouraged to register each for the full 2018-19 academic year as a recital is scheduled at the end of the academic year.

    Calling all little nature enthusiasts!  Join us as we head outdoors to explore the world around us. From activities like nature walks and observations, to creating jewelry and other fun craft projects, we will work to make the most of the beautiful fall weather!

  • Sew It Yourself: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Back by popular demand, we are thrilled to bring back Sew Studio! In this club, designed for beginner and intermediate sewers alike, students learn the basics and improve their machine and hand sewing skills through projects that may include stuffed animals, bean bag games, winter hats/gloves, pillows, and blankets. Come learn a valuable life skill while having a blast with the friendly staff at Sew Studio! This club will take place off campus at the Sew Studio, and FAS staff will transport students to and from the studio each week using Fay's SAV.

    In celebrating the centennial of Leonard Bernstein's birth, we will hear music from Candide,West Side Story, and historic Young People's Concerts with the NY Philharmonic. Through stories and games, we will continue learning to play the violin in Suzuki and Essential Elements. Please be sure that your child has the right size violin before club begins. At least one year of previous violin study is recommended for this continuing group. Students in this club are encouraged to register each for the full 2018-19 academic year as a recital is scheduled at the end of the academic year.

  • Chess Club: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Chess is a classic game that develops spatial thinking, a strategic mindset, and focused concentration. Taught by professional chess master Lou Mercuri, this club is designed for all levels of chess players. Beginners learn basic game rules and opening tactic moves, while intermediate and advanced players learn sophisticated combinations, strategies, and advanced opening moves. During each meeting, students’ time will be split equally between instruction and game play.

  • Youth Fitness Training: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-4)

    Built with kids' learning styles and interests in mind.  Whether they wish to boost athletic performance, build strength and flexibility to prevent injuries, or forget they are working out because they are having so much fun, the trainers at Release have the knowledge, creative ideas, and equipment to make it happen! Classes take place at Release Well-Being center. All students are transported by certified driver on the Fay School SAV to and from the facility each week.

    Through the lens of some of our most beloved fairy tales, in Once Upon a STEM we will put our creative minds to work!  Each week, students will listen to a story and be faced with a different problem or obstacle to solve. By putting their creative minds together, students will work to come up with potential solutions and be able to test their creations!

    We’re thrilled to continue partnership with NEFC, one of the largest soccer clubs in New England. With a focus on ball mastery and skill/technique development, the NEFC Jr. Academy Program is designed to maximize player development and is open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced students alike. Students will be challenged in a fun, safe, and professional coaching environment so that each player will reach his or her own potential.
