Damian Woetzel ’81 Named President of Juilliard School

In May, The Juilliard School announced that Damian Woetzel ’81 would take over as its seventh president beginning July 2018. Damian is an internationally renowned dancer who spent 20 years as a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. He currently serves as the director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program and the artistic director of the Vail Dance Festival. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, was a visiting lecturer at Harvard Law School, and served on the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities from 2009 to 2017.
