COVID-19 Reporting Dashboard

COVID-19 Test Results

This dashboard contains aggregate data pertaining to COVID-19 testing and cases on campus. This data will be updated as we conduct testing of all Fay community members - students and adults - throughout the year.

Explanation of Terms

Total tests include both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals and will vary based on our testing protocols: Test results are posted to the final day of the testing period. Reporting on the dashboard may be delayed by 2-3 days, however, due to the time needed for delivery to and processing by the lab for PCR tests.
  • Positive tests include any positive test administered through the School or reported to the School.
  • Negative tests include only negative results from tests administered through the School.
Positivity rates represent positive cases as a percentage of the number of tests (symptomatic and asymptomatic) administered or reported (in the case of positive results reported to the School from students or employees).

Health and Safety Protocols

We report any known cases of COVID-19 to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Our protocols include daily symptom checks for all students and employees. In cooperation with the the Department of Public Health, we conduct contact tracing and require any identified close contact of an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 to quarantine for fourteen days. Click here to learn more about our health and safety protocols.

Close Contacts

Per guidelines from the CDC and guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Early and Secondary Education, a close contact is any individual who has been within six feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period during the two days prior to the onset of illness or a positive test.

All individuals identified as close contacts will be required to quarantine for 14 days from “Day 0” (the date of the positive test), and the group will transition to a remote, synchronous school day. Students will be allowed to return to campus after the 14-day quarantine period is over AND they have presented a negative COVID-19 test that was completed no earlier than Day 13 of the quarantine. Based on the number of close contacts, a determination will be made about whether the entire cohort needs to quarantine for the full quarantine period. All students required to quarantine will be live-stream until cleared to return to campus.
Boarding students:
In the event that a boarding student tests positive, the close contacts in the dorm will be required to quarantine for the full quarantine period. Based on the number of immediate close contacts, a determination will be made about whether the entire dorm needs to quarantine.

Additional testing

During the 14 days after identifying a positive case, we will conduct two more tests (in addition to the regular weekly tests) of the students who are in the same cohort but have not been identified as close contacts and are not in quarantine.

Required quarantines

Keeping students and families safe and preventing the spread of COVID are community responsibilities, and all families are expected to follow quarantine protocols. Should the school become aware of a violation of quarantine protocols, we will restart the quarantine period for the student who is involved, and they will not be permitted to return to campus until the additional 14 days of quarantine have passed. A subsequent quarantine violation by the student may result in mandatory remote learning for the remainder of the term.
