At Fay, one of our core values is Dedicated Service, which is exhibited by our students’ commitment to community service. By sharing our time and talent with others within our community and the world around us, we broaden our perspective, strengthen our understanding, and deepen our knowledge of the society in which we live. Through dedicated service, we learn, we grow, we become appreciative, and we initiate change.
In the Primary and Lower Schools, community service is coordinated within each classroom to ensure that projects are meaningful and developmentally appropriate. In the Upper School, community service is primarily extracurricular in nature, voluntary, and student-initiated, which places the responsibility in the hands of our students.
Some of our school partnerships, such as the
Southborough Food Pantry,
Our Father’s Table,
Cradles to Crayons, the
Community Harvest Project, and the
Michael Lisnow Respite Center, are long-term and ongoing; others, such as clothing drives during the holiday season and bake sales for local walks, are designed to match immediate community needs with students’ interests and skills. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once wrote, “Not everybody can be famous, but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service.”
At Fay, all of our students are great, as shown through their commitment to community service.
