The International Student Program (ISP) offers international students the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of a Fay education, regardless of their level of English proficiency.
The International Student Program supports students in all aspects of their Fay experience from assistance with immigration documentation and travel arrangements to academic scheduling and secondary school placement. International students who are not yet fluent in English enroll in English as Second Language (ESL) classes as well as some mainstream academic courses at the appropriate level, such as mathematics. The program ensures that students continue to progress academically while they acquire proficiency in English. ESL classes emphasize grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and speaking and listening skills. As students become more proficient, the program offers the flexibility to allow students to bridge to classes in the mainstream Fay curriculum. The goal of ISP is to prepare international students to participate fully in the mainstream Fay curriculum when their language skills are established—and to make a successful transition to an independent secondary school in the United States if they so desire.
International students are integrated into the entire Fay experience. Throughout the year, numerous social and cultural events celebrate the authentic diversity that makes Fay’s multicultural community enriching and welcoming to all. The ISP program also serves as a resource for Fay's domestic students, offering field trips, dances, dinners, and other events that celebrate the world's cultures. Fay's student body is an international community; our students hail from more than 17 countries.
