Joyful Noise
A call to support Fay School
This is a school about the
poet from Buenos Aires, the chess master from Worcester, the shy kid from Lubbock who wins the
essay contest.

The teacher who encourages
you to try out for volleyball. The advisor who comforts you after you stumble on your first Latin
quiz. The dorm parents who offer impromptu dance lessons on the night of the first
dance.

The wrestling room where you do
not give up. The language lab where you discover another voice. The schoolroom, the stage, the table
in the dining room where you sense that some astonishing new part of you has come to
life.

The long, breathless moment when
you become, for the first time, finally, yourself.

The
moment when you know, for the first time, finally, that you are not alone, that you are understood, known,
raised up by the people around you. When you discover that a chorus makes a joyful noise. When you discover
the Power of Partnership.
