Athletics

Students on the playing fields We take physical education seriously; it’s part of our commitment to educate the whole child. Our comprehensive athletic program helps every student develop essential social and cognitive skills - and a deep respect for the importance of physical health.

Our athletic program includes required physical education classes in grades 1–4, required participation on competitive or intramural teams in grade 5, and required participation in our afternoon interscholastic athletic program in grades 6–9. Each program offers instruction in fundamental skill sets, collaborative work with peers, and hands-on training in sportsmanship, leadership, earnest effort, and focused practice.

Our facilities include the Harlow Athletic Center, home to four basketball courts; a climbing wall; training and weight rooms; and a ski and snowboard storage area. We also offer nine playing fields, a ropes course, a volleyball court, eight tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Our athletic programs also take advantage of local resources, including the New England Sports Center (hockey), Southborough’s 9/11 Field (turf), Ward Hill (skiing and snowboarding), the Westborough Tennis Club, St. Mark’s Golf Course, and Stony Brook Golf Course.
